Jose Garcia

Jose was born and grew up in the Bronx NYC, he served as a Patrol Officer in the Nassau County Police Department. He spent 11 years in the Police Department as the secretary of the Nassau County Police Hispanic Society. He also served 4 years as the Community Police Officer in the minority neighborhood of Roosevelt NY, in the First Precinct.

He helped at both the 9/11 site and in 1989 at the Avianca Plane crash on the north shore of Long Island. He retired from the Police Department in 2006 and moved to central Florida. He attained an A.S. Degree in Digital Media and Graphic Arts from Seminole State College.

Jose started his Community service in 2014 as a member of the Solivita Democratic Club and the Polk County-DHCF. Later in 2015 he served as the President of the Polk County Chapter of the Democratic Caucus of Florida. Presently he is the secretary of the State Executive Board of the Democratic Hispanic Caucus of Florida.
